The Akshay Tritiya

Well... this is my second attempt at blogging.
I would like this to be an interactive blog.
Starting on this Auspicious Day of Akshay Tritiya.

What is Akshay Tritiya ?
Akshaya Tritiya, also known as Akha Teej is a Hindu and Jain holy day, that falls on the third Tithi (Lunar day) of Bright Half (Shukla Paksha) of the pan-Indian month of Vaishakha. It is an auspicious day of the birthday of Lord Parasurama who is the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. On this day Veda Vyas and Lord Ganesha began to write Mahabharata. The meaning of the word Akshaya is infinite that which never recede.... (Thanks Wikipedia)

This day belongs to one of those three & half mahoorat days ( yes three & half mahoorat days) when one can start any sigificant venture, any thing that marks progress of you AND for this you don't require to see a 'horoscope'.

Many people buy gold on this day ( Isn't it a thing that imbibes a habit in you to invest regularly). May be that is the reason India is one of the largest consumer of gold for ages.

Gold as an Investment

Gold as investment has given returns like:

Now my question is How do you view this?
Do you invest regularly in Gold?
If yes.. in which form? Physical gold, ETFs?
Does it satisfy your investment objectives?
Will you please share your experience?.........

  1. Dear Ajey,
A most laudable effort. As one can expect after knowing you all these years, something "HATKE", constructive,& useful.
As usual (Of Course!) I have a few questions!
We will start with only one,
What do you mean exactly by "Interactive" or in other (Socrates')words 'Define Your Terms'!

  2. Thanks for appreciating efforts.
    Now for 'interactive'

    World English Dictionary
    interactive

    1. allowing or relating to continuous two-way transfer of information between a user and the central point of a communication system, such as a computer or television
    2. (of two or more persons, forces, etc) acting upon or in close relation with each other; interacting

    interactive definition

    interactive definition
    programming
A term describing a program whose input and output are interleaved, like a conversation, allowing the user's input to depend on earlier output from the same run.
The interaction with the user is usually conducted through either a text-based interface or a graphical user interface. Other kinds of interface, e.g. using speech recognition and/or speech synthesis, are also possible.
This is in contrast to batch processing where all the input is prepared before the program runs and so cannot depend on the program's output.

See... you have already made it 'INTERACTIVE'.

  3. All that is fine. But after all these definitions (And I have read them fully thrice) it seems to me that, all meanings indicate 'Reactive' rather than interactive!
    To put it plainly there are two ways this may work;
1.You put something on (Posting It is the technical term, I believe)
& then others "React" to it with their views. That's what I mean by Reactive.
2.Any visitor can put his views on any topic of his choice (His Post) and start a fresh discussion. You may choose to have a limited control over the choice of topics &/or the language & content. Only then it can become truly "Interactive" in my view!
So what's it going to be?
